What are you up to these days?

• You love going to the baby sitter and seeing all the little kids playing. I think you just don't understand why you can't go all the places they can


• You love to take a bath and that is your special time with Daddy


• You like to be outside and if you are not in a good mood we walk outside with you and you are happy!


• You love to sit up like a big boy in your bumbo seat and I can not wait for you to sit on your own


• You still do not have any hair but I am sure it will come in soon


• Your eyes are still blue like Mommy's and you still look more like Mommy than Daddy!!


• You are a happy baby and we can't wait to see how much you grow this month!

A crazy month!

This has been a crazy month so far! Starting back to work, taking Carter to the babysitter, and all in all trying to help my baby boy gain weight! I have also been trying to book people parties for Scentsy with all the new things they have coming in the Fall. Carter turned 4 months old on the 20th and tomorrow my goal is to put up his 4 month post!

This weeks theme is Encouragement!



Here is my favorite saying....... "When you are at the end of your rope reach out and find the hem of his garment.." Someone sent this to me this past year and it really touched me. I wrote it down on a sticky note and left it on my desk at work so I could always read it. I think that the reason I love it so much is that it reminds me that I am never alone and can only do everything I do through God. Everyone has rough days, things that don't go the way you think that they should, or just feel down sometimes and this should remind you that he is always with you and will never let you give up! My mom always told me growing up God will never give you more than you can handle. As a kid or really a teenager this is such a hard concept to understand. But now as an adult and a new mother I realize that this is such a true quote. All the things that you thought as a teenager were going to be the death of you or the things that you then thought would never get better were really not the end of the world and you will get through it! If only I could have known that back in high school! :)
Do you feel this same way? My 5th graders I teach sometime throughout the year will always ask me what it was like when I was in 5th grade or in High school and I always have to remind myself to be professional and not tell them oh how I would never go back and do that again~! While I loved SOME moments of my schooling back then you just grow up so much from then to who you will be now and oh how life gets so much better! Enough rambling What do you think?

We found our feet!

We had a very fun busy weekend! I have been wondering when Carter was going to find his feet and I was so happy on Friday he did! I was working on the computer and Carter was on his mat playing and I looked over and he had his foot in his hand. I had to take a picture for Daddy because he is always at work and misses all the fun. Ryan's mom watched Carter on Friday night so we could have a date! We went to the Cheesecake Factory and to see the movie The Ugly Truth. It was a fun night. Saturday we all went shopping and to Ryan's sister Leslie's house in Allen. Sunday was fun because Leslie and I got up early and went to Canton and then a package came to our house! I had been wanting to order Carter the Praise Baby DVD set and the sleepy time cd but thought I would wait until he was 3 months old. IT CAME SUNDAY! If you have not heard of it check out the website http://www.praisebaby.com/. It is like Baby Einstein except it uses Christian songs! Here are a few pictures of Carter watching his first DVD yesterday!

Fun day with family and friends!

Today Carter and I got to hang out with one of my best friends Kambrie! I brought my camera and still forgot to take a picture of her and Carter so here is one from a shower I had. I guess that counts right? Then we went to go and see my mom (Grandma Neice) and Carter was able to show off his new trick. He has found his feet! I really never knew how excited things like this would be to me!

On another note..... Carter now weighs in at 10 pounds 9 ounces!!!! YEAH CARTER!!! We are so proud of you keep it up bud! Mommy is also on her way to losing the weight Carter is gaining HEHE!

Blog Hop! Fav Kid Photos

This week on the blog hop it your favorite kid photos of your kids! This is exciting for me and in a way helpful too! I had to download all the pics from my camera and my phone to make the blog hop so it was productive. Carter is now 3 months 1 week old also known as 14 weeks and is such a wonderful baby. Ryan says God gives you the first one and makes them a great baby to get you to have more. My friend Tiffany would disagree with that but I am thinking he might be on to something there. Since Carter has turned 3 months I really feel like his personality is starting to come out. He likes to play with his toys now and can entertain himself for a pretty long time. He has begun to love his swing, his tummy time mat and his bouncy chair. Just this weekend we put together his exersaucer and while we laughed our heads off at the fact that he still is to small for it he did stay in it for about 15 min. I put in a picture so you can enjoy a good laugh. I am not sure when he will grow into it but I will just keep trying. I hope you enjoy the pictures of Carter

3 Months

Carter is 3 months old!!!!

What is going on in Carter's World?

• Weight- 10 pounds 2 ounces. You are still on your way to gaining weight!
• Length- 23 inches long. You have grown 1 inch each month
• Diaper- you are still in a 1 but when we run out of size 1 we are going to start on size 2 they just be a little big for a few weeks!
• You wear anything from some newborn outfits to 0-3 months
• You can roll from your belly to your back and sometimes that scares you
• You are such a great sleeper! Your bedtime is between 8:00-8:30 and you sleep all night until 6:30-7:30. We love this!
• You love to laugh! I love hearing you laugh and smile!
• You can hold your head up now
• You love to have time on your play mat and looking at the lights
• You have a favorite toy. Spunky Monkey! You love to hold him and eat him.
• You are eating better but we have had to change your formula to Nutramagien and that has helped
• You like to go in the car and go places. As long as the car keeps moving :)
• You like to watch the TV and all the bright colors. Mommy has ordered Praise Baby DVDS for you to start watching. I think you will like them.
• You like to watch the doggies and sometimes we wonder what you are thinking about them.
• You have started trying to pull your head up while you are on your back
• You love all people! You will go to anyone and let them hold and play with you!

3. I hate getting gas for my car! I actually ran out of gas on my first date with my husband because I HATE putting gas in my car. Little did he know when he had to bring me gas on the side of the freeway that he should have run far far away from me then. But he is the best and that is now his job!

12 weeks

Where have the past 12 weeks gone? Carter is on his way to 3 months on the 20th and I can not believe it. Today my mom and I went to have his weight checked AGAIN. He is 9.15 ounces. He went from 9.11 to 9.15 in one week. She said she thinks this formula is the key to his tummy issues and not wanting to eat a lot at one time so hopefully we will keep this up and he will be on his way to gaining much needed weight. However, to me he looks fine and healthy!!!!!

I am doing well since the gallbladder issue. Ryan took very good care of me while I was recovering and I am not taking pain medicine anymore. Mainly because I hate how loopy it makes me feel. One week from today Carter will be going to visit his Daddy Keith and Nana!!!!!!!! He can not wait! (and neither can mommy and daddy) Even though we will miss him for the 2 days he is gone :)

All is well....

I am having a nice recovery from the gallbladder surgery and I am hoping to be up and feeling much better tomorrow morning! Carter has an appointment at 11am so I will update you more then. Just wanted to check in!

Dr. Visit check up

We went back for our 2 week check up Monday to see if Carter had gained weight. He had gone from 9.3 to 9.11 and a half ( I must include the half) My amazing Doctor who I love decide to up his meds to a full pill and switch his formula to something that is eaiser for him to digest blah blah language to me I just want my poor baby to be able to eat without being in pain and gain so weight! The formula smells really bad. Worse than the soy we have already been using. Sparing you details just let me say it moves right through him! BUT he seems to be having a little bit of an easier time eating so YEAH! Maybe we have found out how to fatten up our boy! We will go back in and have another visit next Monday and see where we are at.

Carter is hardly ever napping during the day but sleeping about 9-10 hours at night so I guess that is ok. All you mommy's out there what do you think?

We had a wonderful July 4th at Ryan's family lakehouse this weekend and Carter got in his first 4th of July outfit that my Grandmother bought for him. I am uploading the pictures tomorrow and can't wait for you all to see him.

Two Months Old

Carter is 2 months old!!!!!!!!

What is going on in Carter's world?!

• Weight- 9pounds 3 ounces (Carter is working on gaining weight and Mommy is working on loosing it - You are between 5 and 10% but we are going to fatten you up
• Length- 22 inches long and growing 20-25 %
• graduating to size 1 diapers was a big deal to us
• You are still wearing newborn outfits but your length is getting to make you need to move up to 0-3 months. Pretty much you wear both sizes
• Your eyes are still blue so we are thinking that they will be like Mommy's eyes
• You don't have any hair (still!)
• Your bedtime is anywhere from 9:00 -9:30pm and you are sleeping through the night until anywhere from 5:30-7:00am
• You are eating 4-5 ounces every 3-4 hours except for when you are asleep at night time
• You love to lay on your mats and look around at what is going on. I like to say you are people watching like your mommy and her friends :)
• You can lay on your tummy and push up with your arms now and you look around like you want us to watch you
• You roll on your side everynow and then
• You hold your head up every chance you get
• You love the car and the new toys you have in your car seat
• You are starting make noises at us and love to hear yourself coo and ahhhhh
• You love to be outside and doing things
• You are lasting longer doing your own thing like the swing and the bouncy chair( this lets Mommy get some things done)
• You have made it into your CRIB!!!!!!!! I am so proud of you and Daddy is so proud of Mommy for letting you sleep in your own room. ( I still watch you on the Video monitor)
• You have started to notice who Mommy and Daddy are and we could not be happier!

WE LOVE YOU CARTER!!!!!!!!!!!

6 weeks and counting!

Carter was 6 weeks old on Monday! He has already grown so much in the past 6 weeks and is getting to be a big boy. He sleeps at night from about 9:30- 5:00am and then has some food and then will usually go back to sleep until about 7:30. This is so great for us!!! Today he took his first nap in his crib. He did pretty well. He was in there for about 30 min and then woke up so I swaddled him and put him back in for about 20 min and then he was ready to be in the living room with me. I have learned that he loves the sound of water and nature sounds so I started having him take his naps with noises like this and he sleeps pretty well.

I am wanting to work his way in his crib for night time as well but he (I ) am just not there yet :)

He has been sick this past two weeks and I have had to clean his nose out everytime he eats to make him not get sick to his tummy. I never knew how hard it would be to see your child sick until now.

Any tips on the transition into cribs would be great!

Carter is 1 month old today!

Today is Carter's 1 month old mark!!!!!!! I wanted to share how we are all doing :)

Carter:
Can now hold his head up for almost 1 min
Can roll on his side
Can hold his paci in his mouth for at least 5 min (of pure joy)
Either sleeps through the night until about 5:30 or wakes only once at around 3:00
Is liking his alone time a little more in his swing or bouncy chair or just hanging on the couch next to one of us
Does not like to be wet at all! Either from spit up or a wet diaper
Likes to listen to the bathwater run full blast
Loves his doggies
Enjoys being an on the go baby!!!!!


What we have learned:
After the first 2 weeks things get a whole lot easier
Routines are the best thing ever
Carter does not like to be wet!
We can still go places even with a baby it just takes a little more getting ready
A swaddle blanket can be your best friend
Not only does Carter need to have extra clothes to go anywhere but it does not hurt to bring an extra shirt for us as well

Welcome to the world!

Carter came in the world on April 20th at 3:46pm. It was a long day that turned into me having a cesection around 2:00pm. Things went really fast after they said I would not be able to have him normally. He was perfect with all his fingers and toes :) We had to stay in the hospital until Thursday since I had a cesection so by the time we got out we were all ready to head home. Wednesday before going home was a rough day for all of us. I got really sick and thought I would never be able to go home so when Thursday came and I was all better we were all really excitied!

Since coming home things have been like a roller coaster. He sleeps pretty well now, however, the first week was pretty rought for all of us. Now we are getting into a routine and doing much better. If Carter could learn how to keep his own paci in his mouth things would be GREAT! Just a few days ago we started to have tummy problems so I am trying Mylocon and little tummys gas drops to help him feel better. Have any suggestions?

On Saturday my wonderful MOM is taking him for the day and night so Ryan and I can have date night!!!!!!!! We are just counting down the days!

Two weeks of Carter's life and here are some things we have learned:

I went to the doctor again yesterday and unless they can get me in sometime this week I am set to go in the hospital on Sunday! We are very excitied and I am very ready!!!!! I think that I am actually getting a little nervous though :)

update!

Got a long awaited call from the doctor today. (yes he was supposed to call yesterday) that stated he thinks the origanl due date of the 24th is correct based on the babies femur bone or something like that. He therefore will not take him until at least next week. He wants me to come in first thing Monday and get checked and will fill me in then! He did say that he could come on his own at any time so that is what we are hoping. :) More to come later

Sono appointment this morning

I had a 7:15am appointment to get a peak at the baby! This meant that I had to be there at 7:00 to hopefully get in early to make it back to school by 8:00ish and be able to give the TAKS test to my kids!!!!!! My doctor made me go after yesterday's doctors appointment. He wanted to see how big the baby was in order to see if he can take him early. WELL..... I am not sure what is going to happen.I will let you know when I know. However, I am ready so that means he prob. won't take him early!!!!!!!

The Waiting game!

We are just waiting now......... Tomorrow I have my weekly doctors appointment so I will know more then. HOPEFULLY we will get good news. We shall see...........

I have decided to make myself feel like the days are going faster than they really seem to be going to keep everyone updated on the daily things going on with us..........

1. The countdown to Math TAKS has begun and is going well
2. YEAH for the reading TAKS scores coming back
3. We go to the doctor every week now and each week I feel like he might just maybe say something great that will make me either have a baby or feel much better (so far no luck)
4. I just can't seem to get enough advice on the fist couple of weeks of new mom life. So fill me on what you think are some of the most important things I should know for getting through the first few weeks, days, mins etc.
5. I started having these horrible mind wrenching pains on my left side that last about 1 min and bring me to tears and then they are gone and I usually have 2 a day. Prob. nothing but that is where I am at!
6. I need to finish things in Carter's room BUT I am just so tired after I get home from work that I can not seem to do anything. NOTHING AT ALL!!!!

Baby Carter

We are still here and waiting for Carter's arrival! We had an apointment yestreday and we are looking at about the 9th or 10th. I have been feeling pretty bad and due to asthma issues spent all of last Monday in the ER to help get that under control. So we are really ready!!!!!

I hope all of you are having a good week sorry I have not called and updated latley I promise I still love all of you but the past couple of weeks have just been crazy!

What a DAY!!!

(just a side note: this is the 2nd time that I am having to type this because the first one got deleted somehow!!!!!!!!)

This weekend we went to Austin to Matt's, Ryan's brother, wedding and it was great! We love Monica and can not wait to share in their lives! As always we got to hang out with family that we don't get to see all the time and had a blast.

Today was a wonderful day! My team at school through me a surprise baby shower and invited my mom, Ryan's moms (Judy and Pam) and Leslie Ryan's sister. It was great! We got such amazing gifts. Go to Target and Babies R-Us to see what all we got and send any ideas of things we did not put on this list that you would if you were registering now. Advice always welcome.

Question of the day: Swaddleing- why do it and how do you do it

Sick in bed............

I have been sick since Saturday night and just can't seem to shake it! I thought that it was just my asthma until it just would not go away even with using my machine for asthma. I have not slept in 2 nights and finally decided to go to the doctor. I can not get into my doctor so I am going to CareNow. They have this really cool web checkin on line so now I just wait at my house instead of the 2 plus hour wait there. Hopefully they will be able to give me something that will make me feel better and I can stop coughing!

Needing a New Week!

I am in need of a new week to begin! I have meant to come and post a new blog this whole week but I have not gotten home any night until after 6pm and then I am so tired that I pretty much just go to bed. Work is very hectic right now and with TAKS coming so soon I am having to crack down on my 110 kids and the not so fun part of being a team leader kicks in! I hate having to get onto or correct my team mates! HATE HATE HATE IT! BUT this is part of the job and right now I feel like we are going to pull this off if we all work together! I HATE SCHOOL RIGHT NOW! (next week is going to be better I just know it:))

Update on baby carter- I have begun to feel how heavy he is all the time! I have also started to have this numb tingle pain in my left thigh and down my leg all the time. Dr says it is normal but it hurts and I just don't like it. I have not been sleeping very well. I constantly am worrying about something or someone and have been having dreams where people around me are dying SO please pray for that because it is bad.

I hope everyone is having a great week and will update again soon :)

This is me and my friend Karlene at a party called the White and Black party! Everyone wore Black and White. It was at the opening of a store in Uptown Dallas and we had a great time! This was a few months after Ryan and I had just met so this brought back some great memories! Lets see what you come up with!!!

Ice day!

Today was an Ice Day for us and while I was happy to have the day off I was upset because I only have so many days before the reading TAKS test and my kids need to be at school! Once I got over that this morning ,at 5:15am when both Ryan and I got phone calls from school, I was planning on being very productive.

We got all of the clothes from our family and friends that were pass downs and all of the new stuff that we have bought for him so far put away!!!! We went by size while hanging things up in the closet and I put all the sleepers away in a drawer. The only thing is every sleeper we have been given from others is long sleeves. Is this normal? Should I be getting him some with short sleeves? Then I got all his socks organized and put in a tub that I will eventually put in a basket when I get them and put them in one of his drawers. I will take pictures tonight of his room so far and post them for you guys tomorrow! Let me know what you think!!!!!

This weekend!

This weekend Ryan and I were the parents of 3! We babysat for my Aunt Connie who lives in Southlake while she and her husband went out for the weekend for their anniversary. This is the 3rd year in a row we have done this for them and let me tell you each year it gets a little easier!!!! Her kids are Allie who is in 3rd grade and Twins Katie and Max who are about to be 4. This year I think was my favorite. Maybe because we are so excited to see Carter soon or maybe because this was the first year Kaite did not wake up in the middle of the night. Either way both of us had a great time!!!! Ryan and I would both like to have 3 kids (spaced somewhat out of course) and by the time we went to bed last night we actually thought ok we can do this! It was so great seeing how my wonderful husband interacted with the twins. They loved him and would both sit in his lap and watch him play their DS Mario brothers ( which we both loved from back in the day!) and yell for him when he did good and say that's ok you try again when he would mess up! Yes I can say he is going to be a great dad!!!!!

On another note.......
I have become aware that I need to use this blog to document the rest of my pregnancy and to later use it like my friend Jill as a document of Carter's life! This way people I love who do not get to see or talk to me everyday can (if they want) keep up with what is going on in our little family. So this is my new plan. I hope that you all will read and comment on what I write. I love advice and yours is greatly appreciated :)

I have been reading on Kelly's Korner and praying for her little girl Harper! I can not even begin to imagine what she and her husband are going through. Please go to her site and pray for her baby and her family. It has been so emotional for me since she had a great pregnancy and then all of the sudden when Harper was born things went wrong. God creates miracles everyday lets pray for one for Harper.

Where have you been?!

I know I know! I have been gone for a while! The past two weeks have been very hectic for us. To make it short. They thought there was something wrong with either me or the baby and they had us coming to the doctor A LOT! Through lots of prayer and only by God's grace when we went to have an ultra sound yesterday she said Carter looked great and I was doing just fine. Yes he would prob. be coming early because he is going to run out of room because my torso is to short and my pelvis faces inward BUT he is great right now! He weighed in at 2 pounds 2 ounces! It was such a blessing to see him again since I feel like it has been forever since we have gotten to see him move. He was so active and you could even see him moving on my skin WEIRD!

Quick update until later....

Hi all! I just wanted to give you all a fast update on what has been going on. Ryan and I went to celebrate our 1 year anniversary and had a great time at the Hyatt Regency downtown. We went to dinner at Chamberlains and that was super yummy!!!! I will post the pics this Sunday!

Carter has started moving A LOT! It has been super crazy! Fun except when I am trying to sleep. We go for our 6 month check up Monday so more to come on that.

Yesterday was very icy and I ended up slipping and falling. I was having a lot of cramping so Ryan came to work and picked me up and we went to go get checked out. Praise God everything was ok!!!! They said everything was normal after a fall. Some bruising and discomfort but besides that I am feeling much better.

This weekend we are going to have Christmas with Ryan's Family in Temple :) We are excited to get away and spend some time with family! Much more to come on that.......

Baby on the brain

I am just so excited about Carter's arrival! We both just can not wait! I bought him some outfits on the biggest shopping day of the year and it was so much fun. We went to dinner with Stephanie, Ryan's sister and the family last night and it was so much fun watching her son. He is just so cute and just LOVES his mommy. I am looking forward to having that with Carter. Every day I get more and more excited about him.

Ryan wants to do his room in Peter Pan...... I just want to do it in two colors. So this is what we will be discussing for the next few weeks. That is until I just go buy the paint. :)

Boy or Girl

Today is the day! (hopefully ) Ryan and I tried really hard to talk to the baby and tell it that it was time to uncross it's legs! Hopefully it is not stubborn like me and we will be able to find out! More to come later!!!!!!!!!!

Off to Waco!

Playoff Game #2! I am so torn. If they win A. Ryan never comes home because he is still working. B. I have to make another trip out of town and back for a football game. C. RYAN IS NEVER HOME!!!! D. Ryan is happy and football goes on. So do I want them to win or not? I have no clue. Off to Waco I go! Oh and by the way it is going to be FREEZING!!!!!!!!!!!!

BLOG HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am in need of some help! I am trying to fix a friend of mine's blog page and I am having trouble getting the middle of the page to not be WHITE! I went and added the Gadget to HTML the background from cutest blogs is animal print on the sides and pink in the middle BUT the animal print shows up and the pink does not! CAN YOU HELP! If you need to see it go and click on Diane on my page under friends. Could it have anything to do with Minima your template? I don't know what that means but I have seen it a lot when looking for blogs.

Please any advice would be so helpful!!!!!!!!!

baby Harrison

Yesterday we went to find out what the baby is!!!!!!! Guess what?! THEY COULD NOT TELL! I was so bummed. The baby was sitting on its legs and all you could see were the feet. We tried everything. The doctor was pounding on my tummy so hard I thought he had to be hurting the baby which he assured me he was not. But still nothing!!!!!!! I am to the point where I really don't care what it is as long as A. We have a healthy baby and B. We can JUST find out! Honestly though I would really like a girl first. My mom has always wanted a granddaughter and Ryan has said from the very beginning how much fun it would be to have a little girl. I am going to be excited and happy either way boy or girl! I really just hate it when people lately have been saying oh you are going to have this or I hope that you have this. For real people I am very hormonal right now and even if you are just joking it still hurts my feelings :(

On a lighter note I have a friend who I am almost done updating her webpage for her and adding cuteness to her site!!!! I will give you the page when I am done so you can check it out.

I am also in need of some prayers. I am having a hard time right now and can not go into detail much about it because I don't know that only my friends are reading this. Please please just pray for me in general and also for people out there who are just mean and cruel.

Birthday Surprise!

This week has been crazy busy and I have not even had time to fill everyone in on last weekend! Sorry!

Last Saturday on my birthday Ryan surprised me and took me to the Renaissance Hotel downtown for the night! They delivered Happy Birthday balloons to my room and everything. We stayed on the 27th floor and one side of the room was all windows to overlook downtown! We got all dressed up and went to Bob's Steakhouse for dinner which was awesome! The only downer was we came back to watch the Longhorns loose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Needless to say Ryan was very upset and I felt bad for the other people that could hear him screaming at the horns!

Almost my birthday!

It is almost my birthday and I can not wait!!!!!!!! Ryan has something planned but he won't tell me what is going on :) All I know is that I need a bag and I need a dress and night night clothes and stuff for the next day! I just can't wait. I am so excitied!

I can't wait to see all of you guys pictures from tonight. I know that they are going to be stinkin cute!

Jill- I saw on Linds' page that you were talking about Carmel Apple cider from Starbucks and when I went there the other day they had made an extra one and asked if I wanted to try it. It is now my most fav drink!!!!!!! Thanks :)

2nd Trimester

It is offical we are now in the second trimester. While I am feeling better I am now ready to know for sure what the baby is!!!!!!!!! I just can not wait. We go back on November 10th so say a prayer for us that day. Things are going better. I am not as sick as I have been. I am able to eat a little more now without feeling blah afterwards. I am just soooooo tired! I don't ever think that I have been more tired in my whole life. Ryan does not get it either! He is like hello it is 8 and you are going to sleep! I just can not seem to get enough sleep. Did any of you feel this way?

What a day

I have decided that when God puts you to a test he just can throw everything at you at once to see how you do! Yesterday and today have not been great work days for me. I seem to have made tons of people upset without even knowing it and have been tested on who I am. I am not sure what I am supposed to get out of this but I know it must be something because it just keeps happening and I just keep telling God "ok I know that you are trying to teach me something but could you just cut me a little break!" I am just not sure how to handle all of the emotions that people being upset at you brings. I know that you can not always make everyone happy but right now it seems that when it comes to work I can not make anyone happy!!!!!!

Any suggestions would be so wonderful!!! I am tired and don't want to cry anymore :(
