Poor Baby Carter

Poor Carter has a double ear infection and throat infection! Lucky for him he has a mommy who just seems to always know when he is sick and took him to the acute kids this weekend to get him checked out. I left there crying thinking what if I would have taken him sooner.

Still we had an ok weekend full of cleaning the house and Carter played in the kitchen for the first time with a spoon and pan!!! He had way more fun than I thought he would!

So a question I have for all you mommys out there.......

When did you start putting a blanket in the crib with your baby? What about a pillow? The doctor this weekend said to put a little pillow in there with him to help with his nose. What do you all think?

Where have you been you might ask!

For all 3 people wondering where we have been and why we have not posted in a month here is the answer!

1. Carter has finally been dismissed from having testing done this month and we were very busy with getting test results and hearing wonderful news!!!!
2. Football season ended and Ryan was home way more and we catching up on lost family time!
3. Work has been very busy with the semester ending for my 5th graders!

But don't worry my faithful 3 readers out there we are back and ready to catch you up with some great pictures and keep this blog rolling!

I love FALL!!!!!

I can not believe that it is alaready October! Time seems to be flying by and Carter is about to be 6 months old! This past weekend we took Carter to the State Fair of Texas with my family. We all had such a great time and he did way better than I ever thought that he would do. He rode around getting carried in the sling by either me or my mom and even took a nap while my mom was carrying him. He really liked riding on the skyway all the way across the park and getting to look out at all of the things going on down below him. I did not like it so much but I was glad that he and Daddy did.


This week was a little crazy with the weather being crazy and cold, hot then rainy. Carter got really wet walking up to the babysitters house on Friday and was so amazed by the rain. This was the first time he had been out in the rain and though I tried my best to keep him dry the whole walk to the door, it did not work and he was a very wet boy.

Today we went to our good friends The Mashburns house and we hung out for the whole day! It was so much fun and the babies really had fun together. It was fun to see Carter reach for Karley and he even gave her a kiss. Well what looked like a kiss but with a big wet drooly mouth! The guys watched football and the kids and Karen and I talked and caught up. When it not football season we go over there every Friday night for game night. I can't wait for football season to be over just for this very reason!

I will post the pictures of the fair and today in the morning when I plug my camera in to the computer.

Madness Tuesday!

After being sick since last Thursday I am finally today feeling better! I am still on medicine but lucky for me Carter has not shown any signs of getting it! Thankfully I have been able to give him kisses today which I have been trying not to do on his face this past week. This was a rough sickness and for a while I thought I had the flu but got the yucky up the nose test and it came back negative. So.... just an upper resportiory infection for me!
It is only Tuesday and it has been such a crazy week for me since I was out from work last Thursday and Friday. I feel like I will never catch up. Carter and I went to my brother Jacob's football game tonight and he had so much fun watching Uncle Jacob play! Carter LOVES football. Really he just LOVES being outside. He did not however like it when the people in the stands would stomp when we scored. I let him know that he was going to have to get over it being a coaches son and all.

Carter is Five Months Old!

Carter you are 5 months old!

What are you up to these days?

• You weigh 12 pounds! Slow as a Turtle you are gaining more weight!
• You are 26 1/2 inches long
• You are in size 2 diapers and the are only a little big now. Pampers are your favorite
• I have packed up all your newborn outfits and since you wore them for so long I was very sad to see my favorites go. You are now in 0-3, 3 month, and some smaller 3-6 month outfits!
• Your eyes are still very blue! Mommy wants them to stay this way but Daddy would like for you to have green eyes. Either way we love looking at them.
• Still no sign of hair. NONE AT ALL
• You are sleeping now from about 7:30 or 8:00 at night until 7:15 in the morning when Mommy wakes you up to leave for work. I wake you up and you smile so big when you see me. I change your diaper and put you in your car seat with your outfit for the day in your lap. Mrs. Crystal or Mrs. Ann Marie dress you most days for mommy unless you wake up early and then I dress you. You take two naps 1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon. YOU LOVE YOUR SLEEP!
• You love for me to sing to you. Your favorite song is You are my Sunshine! I don't even have to use the real words sometimes I just sing about we are doing but you love the tune!
• You are a rolling machine! You sometimes roll of your play mat and on the hard wood floor and make Mommy put you back on your mat by making loud noises at me
• You are pushing up while on your belly and trying to scoot with your knees. I guess you really want to be mobile. I am ok with waiting on that for a little while.
• You are an on the go boy! You love to be in the car and outside going places. I think you love shopping!
• You have started blowing bubbles with your mouth. You get drool everywhere but it is really funny
• You watch everything that is going on around you including the doggies and TV. You are very intrested in the world around you
• You babble all the time. You are going to be a talker just like Mommy
• You have learned how to turn yourself around in your jumparoo and play with all the toys so now you are liking this toy much better and for longer
• You are still sleeping in your swaddleing blanket and oh how I love it! I know the time is coming when you will no longer stay in it at night. Sometimes you do get out in the middle of the night but I wish you would sleep in it forever. I hope the transition is easy
• You love to hold on to everything you can get your hands on and most of it all goes in your mouth so I am constantly having to watch that
• Right now your favorite toys are: Spunky Monkey, chewy blanket, and monkey wubanub
•  You are a Mommy's Boy! You love your Mommy and it makes me very happy!

Carter's fist party outing!

Tonight was my friend Tiffany's little boys THIRD birthday party! This was also Carter's first party ever! YEAH! He had a great time. He was very intrested in all the other kids and got to hang with his friend Delaney! She is 1 week older than Carter and her Mommy Cari and I spend a lot of time going back and forth about what the kids are doing now. When she was born and I went to go see them in the hospital Carter kicked me the whole time I held Delaney. I guess it was love at first KICK! Here we are as you can see he is checking her out but she is not having any of that!

Time is flying by so fast with Carter. Tomorrow he will be 5 months old.

Monday Madness!

Tonight our friends Lacey and Rodney came over for dinner and to see Carter. We love having people over but these two hold a special place in our hearts so it was super fun. Carter really loves to look at Lacey. I think he likes her blonde hair!!! I meant to take their picture but of course I was busy and I did not think about it. It rained all day again today and Carter did not get to go outside at the sitter's house. I could tell he really wanted to because as soon as we walked out of her house to get in the car he started cooing. He has really started to talk baby talk a lot more recently. He loves to look out the window while he is in the car and just make noises to himself.

Tomorrow I am staying home with him which is a big treat for me except that we have to go to the doctor for weight check. Please say a little prayer for him! Thanks!Have a great TUESDAY!

What a weekend!

Does anyone know why my pictures when I post them are coming out with white on the sides of them? It is killing me

We had a good weekend! Saturday Ryan had to go in to work for a little while and Carter and I did some cleaning. Terry and Crystal came over to watch the Texas Longhorn play a great game and Crystal was able to do some shopping in my scentsy collection. Then Ryan and Carter and I went over to Ryan's sisters house to see Daddy Kieth and Nana!!! We all had a great time.
Sunday I was able to leave Carter in the care of Daddy and Terry to watch the Cowboys game while I went to try on bridesmaids dresses for one of my best friends from highschools wedding in June. Lacey and I have known each other since our Freshman year in highschool and when we graduated from College we moved into an apartment together in Richardson. I love her! The dress is so pretty and I can't wait to lose more baby weight and go and try it on again in November. The rest of the evening was pretty low key. All in all it was a great family weekend.

Carter's next weight appointment is on Tuesday so please be thinking of him then!

We are all better now! YEAH! Today Ryan and I took Carter to eat at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants. While we were there Carter took his bottle and tried to feed himself. Here are the highlights....

Sickness

We have now officially made it through a mommy and son sickness together. Carter stated feeling bad on Tuesday and I could see it going down hill from there. By Thursday I took him to the doctor and both of us had fever so Friday we stayed home and got better. Daddy was gone from Wednesday - Friday with football so he missed out on all of the throwing up fun! It was sad to see Carter not feeling well but by today for the most part he is feeling better. I still have a headache but my tummy is feeling much better. I am glad we made it through it together and hopefully we won't both be sick at the same time again!

OH the joys of football season...

Well..... we are back to football season! And by that I mean Ryan is always gone! :( He loves what he does so I try not to give him to hard of a time,however, I will admit some days are just plan harder than others. Before there was Carter I would go hang out with friends or go shopping or just veg out while he was gone but now pretty much it is like being a part time single parent. I know it is hard for him because he will go for almost two straight days without seeing him so again I try my very best not to tell him how much I miss him or how hard it is sometimes without him. BLAH BLAH football season! I love watching it but I love watching it with Ryan.
Hopefully this season will be another great one and we will go deep in the playoffs!(do you like that football lingo hehe)

Carter is loving his new diet of baby food! So far we have tried Banana's and Sweet Potatoes. He is great and pushing the food to the back of his tongue so most of it does stay in! YEAH! Let's all cross our fingers that he gains some weight and when we go to our GI appointment next week they will not need to run any more tests on him. He seems to be teething so I have started giving him some teething tablets. Everyone says how fast they dissolve but I can't seem to get that to happen really fast. They are the little teethers brand. Have any of you tried them?

4 months old

What are you up to these days?

• You are 11 pounds 3 ounces and growing


• You are 23 1/2 inches long


• You love to sleep and you will sleep for about 12 hours each night


• You have found your voice and love to use it all the time. I wonder where you get that from!


• You are starting on cereal and love it


• You have started eating banana baby food and love it


• You are such a happy baby you laugh and smile all the time


• You chew on your hands and your feet constantly also anything else you can find


• You love going to the baby sitter and seeing all the little kids playing. I think you just don't understand why you can't go all the places they can


• You love to take a bath and that is your special time with Daddy


• You like to be outside and if you are not in a good mood we walk outside with you and you are happy!


• You love to sit up like a big boy in your bumbo seat and I can not wait for you to sit on your own


• You still do not have any hair but I am sure it will come in soon


• Your eyes are still blue like Mommy's and you still look more like Mommy than Daddy!!


• You are a happy baby and we can't wait to see how much you grow this month!

A crazy month!

This has been a crazy month so far! Starting back to work, taking Carter to the babysitter, and all in all trying to help my baby boy gain weight! I have also been trying to book people parties for Scentsy with all the new things they have coming in the Fall. Carter turned 4 months old on the 20th and tomorrow my goal is to put up his 4 month post!

This weeks theme is Encouragement!



Here is my favorite saying....... "When you are at the end of your rope reach out and find the hem of his garment.." Someone sent this to me this past year and it really touched me. I wrote it down on a sticky note and left it on my desk at work so I could always read it. I think that the reason I love it so much is that it reminds me that I am never alone and can only do everything I do through God. Everyone has rough days, things that don't go the way you think that they should, or just feel down sometimes and this should remind you that he is always with you and will never let you give up! My mom always told me growing up God will never give you more than you can handle. As a kid or really a teenager this is such a hard concept to understand. But now as an adult and a new mother I realize that this is such a true quote. All the things that you thought as a teenager were going to be the death of you or the things that you then thought would never get better were really not the end of the world and you will get through it! If only I could have known that back in high school! :)
Do you feel this same way? My 5th graders I teach sometime throughout the year will always ask me what it was like when I was in 5th grade or in High school and I always have to remind myself to be professional and not tell them oh how I would never go back and do that again~! While I loved SOME moments of my schooling back then you just grow up so much from then to who you will be now and oh how life gets so much better! Enough rambling What do you think?

We found our feet!

We had a very fun busy weekend! I have been wondering when Carter was going to find his feet and I was so happy on Friday he did! I was working on the computer and Carter was on his mat playing and I looked over and he had his foot in his hand. I had to take a picture for Daddy because he is always at work and misses all the fun. Ryan's mom watched Carter on Friday night so we could have a date! We went to the Cheesecake Factory and to see the movie The Ugly Truth. It was a fun night. Saturday we all went shopping and to Ryan's sister Leslie's house in Allen. Sunday was fun because Leslie and I got up early and went to Canton and then a package came to our house! I had been wanting to order Carter the Praise Baby DVD set and the sleepy time cd but thought I would wait until he was 3 months old. IT CAME SUNDAY! Today Carter and I got to hang out with one of my best friends Kambrie! I brought my camera and still forgot to take a picture of her and Carter so here is one from a shower I had. I guess that counts right? Then we went to go and see my mom (Grandma Neice) and Carter was able to show off his new trick. He has found his feet! I really never knew how excited things like this would be to me!

Blog Hop! Fav Kid Photos

This week on the blog hop it your favorite kid photos of your kids! This is exciting for me and in a way helpful too! I had to download all the pics from my camera and my phone to make the blog hop so it was productive. Carter is now 3 months 1 week old also known as 14 weeks and is such a wonderful baby. Ryan says God gives you the first one and makes them a great baby to get you to have more. My friend Tiffany would disagree with that but I am thinking he might be on to something there. Since Carter has turned 3 months I really feel like his personality is starting to come out. He likes to play with his toys now and can entertain himself for a pretty long time. He has begun to love his swing, his tummy time mat and his bouncy chair. Just this weekend we put together his exersaucer and while we laughed our heads off at the fact that he still is to small for it he did stay in it for about 15 min. I put in a picture so you can enjoy a good laugh. I am not sure when he will grow into it but I will just keep trying. I hope you enjoy the pictures of Carter

3 Months

Carter is 3 months old!!!!

What is going on in Carter's World?

• Weight- 10 pounds 2 ounces. You are still on your way to gaining weight!
• Length- 23 inches long. You have grown 1 inch each month
• Diaper- you are still in a 1 but when we run out of size 1 we are going to start on size 2 they just be a little big for a few weeks!
• You wear anything from some newborn outfits to 0-3 months
• You can roll from your belly to your back and sometimes that scares you
• You are such a great sleeper! Your bedtime is between 8:00-8:30 and you sleep all night until 6:30-7:30. We love this!
• You love to laugh! I love hearing you laugh and smile!
• You can hold your head up now
• You love to have time on your play mat and looking at the lights
• You have a favorite toy. Spunky Monkey! You love to hold him and eat him.
• You are eating better but we have had to change your formula to Nutramagien and that has helped
• You like to go in the car and go places. As long as the car keeps moving :)
• You like to watch the TV and all the bright colors. Mommy has ordered Praise Baby DVDS for you to start watching. I think you will like them.
• You like to watch the doggies and sometimes we wonder what you are thinking about them.
• You have started trying to pull your head up while you are on your back
• You love all people! You will go to anyone and let them hold and play with you!

3. I hate getting gas for my car! I actually ran out of gas on my first date with my husband because I HATE putting gas in my car. Little did he know when he had to bring me gas on the side of the freeway that he should have run far far away from me then. But he is the best and that is now his job!
